SOLAR TREK, Inc. is a privately held Florida corporation founded by Vincent Biel in 1981 and then purchased by Mr. Biel's son-in-law, Patrick Altier in 2010. Starting as a manufacturer of thermosiphon solar domestic hot water systems, SOLAR TREK continues to manufacture solar hot water components from patents held by the company.
The company has evolved to a full service solar renewable energy company to include solar pool heating systems, solar air conditioning and solar electric.
SOLAR TREK has received many awards since its inception in 1981. In 2014, our company ranked 116th nationally and 14th statewide for solar electric installations. Notable installations include the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center, Florida's Governor's mansion as well as providing support for the Orange County Convention Center and Stetson College for other solar contractors in our network.
With the recent acquisition of an Alachua solar contractor, additional exclusive territory from our distributor and the purchase of Caribbean Electric, Solar Trek is on the move. Our "Three-Legged Stool" philosophy of people, product and price, has Solar Trek on a path of continued growth for years to come. Solar Trek has recently become the exclusive solar provider for The Home Depot in Central Florida. We will provide solar to The Home Depot customers in 16 stores throughout Central Florida.
SOLAR TREK, Inc is a member of the Ocala and Belleview Chambers of Commerce, National Pool and Spa Institute, Marion County Builder's Association, Southeastern Builders Conference, the National Builders Association and SEIA. SOLAR TREK is a former member of the Florida Solar Energy Industry Association (FLASEIA).

About the president
Patrick Altier graduated high school in Ponca City, Oklahoma and went on to Oklahoma State University. After a long career in banking, the economic downturn of 2008 had him looking for new challenges and opportunities.
An opportunity presented itself as Vince was ready to retire after 30 years in the solar business. After the years of winters in Chicago and New York, the warm weather of Florida and a burgeoning solar industry seemed like the right decision. After working with Vince for several years and obtaining a State Certified Solar Contractor's license, it was off to the races.
Utilizing his years of banking experience to show the financial feasibility of solar and the knowledge gained by working with one of Florida's most experienced solar contractors, Solar Trek has grown over 300%.
The move turned out to be a great decision.
In addition to his responsibilities at Solar Trek, Patrick has the pleasure to serve as President of the Florida Solar Energy Industries Association (FLASEIA).
